Worden Park to Host New Artisan Market
Leyland’s award-winning Worden Park is set to host an artisan market later this month.
The event – simply called ‘Worden Market’, and taking place on Sunday, 29 April – gives residents the chance to purchase locally-produced food, drink, and arts & crafts.
From 11am until 3pm, the market will boast a wide range of stallholders selling all manner of homemade or handcrafted foods or goods – each of them manufactured, grown or cooked by local people from around Leyland and South Ribble.
A children’s treasure trail is also set to be a big hit with the kids, along with the usual favourites such as face painting.
The market will take place in the courtyard of Worden Arts & Crafts Centre (in Worden Park).
South Ribble Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Leisure, Councillor Phil Smith, said: “We’re really lucky in South Ribble to have some wonderful green spaces, including our award-winning Worden Park.
“It’s much more than a park, though – with its Walled Gardens, Worden Hall, and of course the Arts & Crafts Centre where we’ll be staging the market.
“This will be our first artisan market, and we’re really looking forward to welcoming an exciting range of different local stallholders, who’ll be showcasing their fantastic local produce: food and drink, arts and crafts, and lots, lots more.
“It’s sure to be a great day out for all the family and I’m hoping we get a really good turnout.”
