19 March 2025

WEPA Professional UK, a leading hygiene specialist in Europe, is proud to announce its support for Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone as a Patron, reinforcing its commitment to investing in the local community and supporting young people in Blackburn and Darwen.

This partnership highlights WEPA UK’s dedication to making a positive impact beyond its core business, ensuring that the next generation has access to opportunities that have personal growth, skill development, and well-being.

Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone provides a safe and inspiring environment for young people aged 5 to 19 (and up to 25 through the Youth Hub), offering a wide range of programs that focus on skills and aspirations, community cohesion, and health and well-being. As a Patron, WEPA UK joins a prestigious network of businesses that contribute to the £2.5 million annual operational costs of the Youth Zone, enabling it to sustain and expand its vital services.

“At WEPA UK, we are passionate about making a difference in the communities we serve,” said Khalid Saifullah MBE, MD at WEPA UK. “Becoming a Patron of Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone allows us to support an incredible organization that provides young people with the opportunities, skills, and confidence to build a brighter future.”

Cohesion is at the heart of Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone, where young people from diverse backgrounds come together to learn, grow, and support each other. The Youth Zone celebrates diversity, and this is reflected in its membership numbers—48% of registered members identify as BAME. The Youth Zone has become a key hub where young people, regardless of their background, can feel safe, supported, and empowered to explore their potential and build a brighter future.

“We are delighted to welcome WEPA UK as a Patron,” said Wayne Wild MBE, Chairman at Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone. “Their commitment will enable us to continue offering essential programs and services that bring young people together, fostering unity and understanding while providing them with the skills they need to succeed in life.”

Alongside this announcement, Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone is excited to introduce its new “Aspirations, Skills, and Progression Hub”, funded by the Youth Investment Fund (YIF). Set to launch in April, the hub will play a vital role in preparing young people for future employment, equipping them with practical skills, industry insights, and career guidance.

Additionally, a Wellness Zone will be introduced to provide mental health and well-being support, ensuring young people are equipped with resilience and emotional strength as they transition into the workforce.

WEPA UK’s commitment to the Youth Zone aligns with its broader vision of social responsibility and sustainability, reflecting its core values of supporting people, communities, and the environment.
