Welcome Return For Guest Presenter of Lancashire Tourism Awards 2015
The judging is over and the finalists of the Lancashire Tourism Awards 2015 #LTA15 have just three weeks to wait before the winners, in 22 hard fought categories, are revealed at Lancashire’s tourism event of the year.
This year’s event takes place on Thursday 5 November at Winter Garden’s Empress Ballroom and today Marketing Lancashire announced that the guest presenter will be Preston-born, award-winning TV presenter and journalist Ranvir Singh.
Ranvir is a graduate of Lancaster University and gained a postgraduate qualification in Broadcast Journalist at University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). UCLan awarded Ranvir an Honorary Fellowship in 2013 and is Headline Sponsor of the Lancashire Tourism Awards 2015.
As well as presenting Good Morning Britain and ITV News Ranvir recently fronted her own six-part primetime ITV current affairs series, Real Stories with Ranvir Singh, which told the unique stories of people involved in extraordinary, life-changing events. Lancastrians will remember Ranvir from her time as co-presenter of BBC North West Tonight, during which time she was awarded ‘Best On Screen Talent at the Royal Television Society’s North West Awards.
Commenting on her return to Lancashire and the Lancashire Tourism Awards Ranvir Singh says: “This is brilliant! I can’t wait to be there to support and celebrate with the best hosts in the country. Since moving south I verge on the evangelical to anyone who listens about the beauty and natural charm of the landscape and people of Lancashire. I miss being there, and will enjoy every minute of being at the awards.”
A drinks reception, sponsored by Visit Blackpool, will launch the evening in style welcoming guests to the Lancashire-inspired dinner, which will be followed by the presentation of the awards by Ranvir Singh along with the Lancashire Tourism Awards 2015 sponsors. The evening will be rounded off with live entertainment and celebration into the early hours.
Ruth Connor, Chief Executive of Marketing Lancashire said, “The quality of businesses across Lancashire is making the judges’ task harder every year. Arriving at the winners in 21 different categories is a challenge and our panels of experts are to be commended for the time, insight and expertise that they bring to the process. We’re very grateful to all of them.
“The winners have now been selected and I’m very much looking forward to welcoming Ranvir back home to Lancashire as our Guest Presenter. I’m sure colleagues across the industry are admirers of Ranvir and her achievements, as we are.
