Unique Restaurant Dreams Become a Reality for Lancaster Leisure Park
When the owners of Countrystyle Meats, Alan Beecroft and Heather Cornthwaite set their minds to something, they not only get the job done, but they do it in style.
Next month sees the completion of their dream, 4 years after its conception.
In August they open a huge, brand new restaurant next to their already successful farm shop at Lancaster Leisure Park, giving visitors a truly unique dining experience.
Regular visitors to Countrystyle Meats Farm Shop will know that Alan and Heather are passionate about great food and with more than 30 years experience of both Butchery and Green Grocery, are perfectly placed to provide Lancaster with a licenced restaurant serviced by expert staff, specialist chefs and only the very best locally produced food.
The farm shop opened in 2011. Since then, business has increased year on year and now they have hundreds of customers who come from far and wide to buy their award winning sausages, bread, cheese, wine, fruit and veg and of course the locally sourced, ethically produced and homemade meat products, that they are so famous for. Last year saw them come runner up in the prestigious Butchers Shop of the Year Award, in the Butchers Plus Category.
The new restaurant gives customers the chance to eat the food they love, in style.
Alan explained “I have always wanted to own a restaurant and after moving my family, farm shop and butchery business here 4 years ago, I finally get the chance for this to happen. It’s an obvious choice of venue for it, right next to the farm shop where we produce all the food. It’s away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre and has loads of free parking.”
The restaurant will boast an ice cream parlour selling Wallings ice cream, milkshakes, sundaes, crepes, hot waffles and barista style coffee. There will be a choice of a quality a la carte menu or an extensive carvery and visitors can sit inside or outside. The views from the decking area are delightful; overlooking woodland, fields and “Burrow Beck”, the atmosphere is peaceful and still.
Just like the farm shop, its size is deceptive. From the front it looks small but it is only when one gets inside and steps onto the natural stone flags, that you get an idea of how truly beautiful this space is going to be. Expecting to employ a further 20 – 30 staff and with seating for 140 inside and 100 outside, it’s a huge project.
Family run, the new restaurant will be called “Countrystyle Kitchen” in keeping with the brand of the farm shop and will be open 7 days a week, as well as Friday and Saturday evenings.
Allan Blackburn, owner of the Leisure Park expressed his delight at yet another new attraction opening on the site. “2015 is a great year for the site. Miller Homes are well under way with their developments of 71 new houses, Cam Photography established themselves here recently and the new restaurant is going to be a huge attraction for the people of Lancaster. The restaurant is the perfect fit with the other 8 attractions, and it is wonderful to see Alan’s dreams and everyone’s hard work finally coming to fruition”.
