The Mall Blackburn’s Retailer Award prove a ‘roaring’ success!
King George's Hall was transformed into a scene from the roaring 20s on Saturday 18th March as retailers and staff from The Mall Blackburn donned their best Great Gatsby fancy dress to celebrate the shopping centre’s Annual Retailer Awards.
There were dapper chaps in vintage suits and bowler hats while the ladies donned fabulous flapper dresses with fringing, sequins, feathers and plenty of stunning period jewellery.
The one they all want to win, Best Retailer, was awarded to River Island after shoppers voted in their thousands. In addition, the fashion retailer also gained recognition for its contribution to The Mall’s social media activities.
Primark came top of the shops for Best Customer Experience as well its involvement in the Love Sundays Campaign.
PureGym was the strongest contender for Best Service Provider and staff at Costa Coffee were certainly ‘perky’ after being named Best Food and Beverage.
Boots bagged two gongs on the evening, one for Best Involvement in Marketing and one for its commitment to Trade Index.
Specsavers was another double champion with accolades for Health and Safety Compliance and its RewardME redemptions.
Best Market Trader went to T C K Deli and David Wilcock, who is the fifth generation of his family to trade on Blackburn Market, was given an award for demonstrating passion for Blackburn after launching Tex Mex food stall Hugo Burrito in November 2016.
Loraine Jones, General Manager at The Mall Blackburn, who was dressed in her flapper dress, said: “Once again, it was an absolute pleasure to host our fantastic retailers for a night of celebration.
“Each and every one of them adds to the fantastic offering we have in The Mall, from delicious food to fashion, homewares and services, and the staff are second to none!
“I would like to congratulate each and every finalist and winner and take this opportunity to thank them, and all our valued retailers, once again for their hard work and dedication.”
