Thanks for coach survey support
VisitBlackpool are today thanking coach companies and drivers for helping out with a study into the resort’s coach facilities.
Drivers and coach company bosses from up and down the country took part in the survey, which asked about existing facilities and improvements they would like to see to help them bring more visitors to town.
It is hoped the survey will help shape improvements to facilities in the future which are vital given that the resort welcomes in excess of a million visitors by coach each year.
Cllr Graham Cain, Blackpool Council’s cabinet member for leisure and tourism, said: “Coach companies are a huge contributor to Blackpool and we’re grateful for their business.
“What we’ve tried to do with the survey is listen to the views of coach drivers and companies to help make it as easy as possible and as enjoyable as possible for them to continue to bring people to the resort.
“We’re collating the results at the moment and we hope to be able to begin looking at what improvements we can make soon.”
As a thank you to those taking part, VisitBlackpool ran a prize draw with the winner scooping an Apple iPad mini.
Ben Wedge, from Cook’s Coaches in Essex, who regularly run visits to the resort, was the lucky winner.
The 2014 summer season features a huge number of exciting events to attract coach visitors to Blackpool.
For example, Blackpool is the only place outside London where you can see the global hit musical MAMMA MIA! in the UK this year.
It has already proved hugely popular with thousands of visitors flocking to see it at the Blackpool Opera House since it opened on June 20.
We also have a host of other events and shows taking place this summer including:
- Blackpool Air Show – 10-11 August.
- The World Fireworks Championships – 5, 12, 19 and 26 September
- Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On weekend starring Rebecca Ferguson, Pixie Lott, Union J and the stars of West End shows Thriller, Chicago, Dirty Dancing, Jersey Boys and more – 29-31 August
