Take A Wander Around The ‘Winckley Weekend’ Festival
This weekend sees the spirit of Preston Guild 2012 return to the city centre with the ‘Winckley Weekend’ Festival.
There will be a range of events and activities taking place across both days and into the evening with an on-street vintage fair and fashion shows, foods from around the world, street cafes and bars, classic and modern sports cars, funfair rides, live music, street artists, performers and walkabout theatre.
The Guild City Stage will be providing music throughout the day and live music around lunchtime and after work on the Friday and throughout the day until 6:00pm on Saturday.
Tim Joel, events manager at Preston City Council, said: “There is a real public desire to maintain the spirit of Preston Guild and Winckley Weekend takes a mix of Guild activities and themes and incorporates them into this weekend of festivities.
“Winckley Square, Winckley Street, Guildhall Street, Cannon Street and Cross Street will be thriving and full of colour, music and people and will be alive into the evening for people to enjoy food and drinks.
“The weekend will really highlight the assets of the Winckley area and show off the potential, showcasing an eclectic mix of traders and professional services ahead of the areas upcoming major improvements.”
