Ribby Hall glowing after £500K makeover
Not satisfied with the numerous awards and accolades it has won in recent years, The SPA Hotel at Ribby Hall Village has invested £0.5 million to further improve its facilities and establish firmly its position as one of the leading spa hotels in the UK.
Consistently awarded 5 Bubble Star Status by the Good Spa Guide, as well as holding the award for UK Best Customer Service, The SPA Hotel also holds a 2017 Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence. In its quest for continuous improvement, however, The SPA Hotel asks all its guests for feedback and uses their comments to help shape future developments.
Exciting new additions for 2018 include a £200,000 investment in the outdoor Zen Garden, a peaceful oasis at the rear of The SPA overlooking the Lancashire countryside. The Zen Garden already boasted an outdoor hot tub, sauna, bar and heated seatingarea and now, following the recent refurbishment, it offers a second hot tub, a Himalayan Salt Sauna and an outdoor experience shower with mood lighting and body jets.
Commenting on the improvements, Spa Manager Jane Tregonning says, “We heard from our guests that they wanted more from the outdoor space at The SPA because it’s such a relaxing place to be.
“We’re particularly delighted with the new Himalayan Salt Sauna with its floor to ceiling windows offering fabulous views. The salt bricks in the walls of the sauna look amazing and are said to support respiratory function and sinus health, to improve mood and sleep and to help balance blood pressure.”
The new experience shower is also proving very popular. “The shower is housed within a luxurious wooden structure so that, even when it’s raining, our lucky guests can enjoy a warm shower outdoors,” says Jane.
Another exciting development is the enhancement of what’s being offered in the Wellness Suite within The SPA Hotel. Here, guests can now benefit from a range of wellbeing therapies led by trained experts, including Hypnotherapy, Crystal Therapy, Physiotherapy and Yoga. For the ultimate in relaxation and meditation, guests can also book a Yoga Retreat, offering two days of Yoga practise combined with an overnight stay with lunch, dinner and breakfast, and use of The SPA’s unique aqua thermal journey.
Alongside the Wellness Suite and many treatment rooms, the Finishing Touches Suite within The SPA Lounge has also had its own makeover. This is where guests come for beauty treatments, including manicures, pedicures, lashes, makeup and brows, with friends able to enjoy being pampered side by side.
The beauty offering is further enhanced by a new ELEMIS Shop and Skin Lab on the first floor of The SPA. Used as part of a Skin Consultation appointment, the Skin Lab provides up to the minute, accurate, in-depth skin analysis enabling the therapist to guide guests to making an informed decision about their daily skincare regime.
The changing areas at The SPA have also been improved with the most significant changes being made to the ladies changing rooms. The number of personal changing cubicles has doubled, and all-new vanity stations installed where guests can use the hairdryers and apply make-up. Modesty screens and additional seating areas have also been added. Soft furnishings, textures and lighting are used to create the same luxurious ambience within the changing area as is found throughout The SPA Hotel.
“The customer journey is always at the forefront of our minds,” says Jane Tregonning, “and these refurbishments make it easier for customers to make the most of what we offer.
“From a simple but indulgent visit to The SPA, through to holistic therapies or seeing an expert in our Wellness Suite, we now provide an even more comprehensive range of treatments and experiences. As always, our aim is to exceed our guests’ expectations, and the feedback we have received so far has been extremely positive.”
