Ribble Valley e-Bikes crowned sustainability star
8 April 2022
The team at Ribble Valley e-Bikes were delighted to be recognised at the 2022 Ribble Valley Stars in Tourism Awards, receiving the trophy for Sustainable Tourism.
The awards event, organised by Ribble Valley Tourism Association (RVTA) in conjunction with Ribble Valley Borough Council’s Tourism Team, was held at Hobbit Hill, and celebrated the many companies who make the Ribble Valley such a welcoming place to visit.
Discussing the award for Sustainable Tourism, Amanda Dowson RVTA Chair said: “Sustainable Tourism is very topical and quite rightly so. One of the major challenges is reducing traffic emissions, and Ribble Valley e-Bikes tackles this head on with a much greener solution for getting around and exploring our beautiful local area. “Not only does the company provide a sales and hire service for e-bikes, but it continues to forge partnerships across a range of other tourism outlets to ensure the availability of bikes at a large number of venues. “I think Ribble Valley e-Bikes is definitely a Sustainable Tourism Star and the award is very well deserved.” Ribble Valley e-Bikes owner Roger Wolstenholme said: “We were very pleased to receive this trophy, especially as the panel recognised that we also strive to champion other local businesses wherever possible too. “We deliver bikes to restaurants and holiday accommodations, as well as having e-mountain bikes to hire at The Hub at Gisburn Forest. “We’re continuing to expand our Cycle Safari options, which allow people to ride between various hotels, pubs and restaurants, (already up and running with James’ Places) and we liaise with the venues to transport luggage etc. “E-bikes are a great way to explore the Ribble Valley and beyond, because they level the playing field and make the scenic hills and valleys of the area more accessible to more people.” Find our more about buying or hiring an e-bike at ribblevalley-e-bikes.co.uk The company has a Clitheroe shop on Waterloo Road and a hire HQ in the centre of Dunsop Bridge.
