Obsession16 welcomes 16 internationally acclaimed chefs from 5 continents
January 2016 sees Michelin-starred restaurant and country house hotel Northcote launch their
annual gastronomic event ‘Obsession’. After the triumph of last year’s fifteenth anniversary,
there was no question that it had to extend to 16 nights in 2016, Friday 22nd January – Sunday
7th February. The bar set even higher with an unprecedented SIXTEEN nights bringing culinary excellence from across the globe to the tables at Northcote.
This year, at what has become known in the industry as the “Glastonbury of gastronomy”
Obsession showcases and extraordinary diversity of menus from hugely talented chefs from as far afield as Japan; Taiwan; Peru; Mexico along with European and UK representation, in total eighteen Michelin stars will shine at Northcote.
This year Chef Patron, Nigel Haworth will be joined by some of the greatest names in gastronomy. Northcote’s nearest neighbours will be Aktar Islam, one of leading figures in Indian cuisine in the UK and from just across the water, Mark Jordan of the opulent Atlantic Hotel & Ocean Restaurant in Jersey. Jean-Luc Rocha, who is on a mission to bring French haute cuisine into the 21st century, Wojciech Modest Amaro, the first Michelin starred chef in Poland brings a menu where nature meets science. Tom Sellars is one of the brightest and most precocious culinary talents to hit the capital in recent years. Annie Feolde belongs to a very select club – being on of just six women in the world to hold THREE Michelin stars and more Italian influences from Angelo Sabatelli and Marco Stabile, who also have a star to their names. A first for Obsession as Northcote welcomes chefs from Asia, 3 Michelin star Hideaki Matsuo, presents Ryotei, the ultra-premium Japanese haute cuisine from Japan and Lanshu Chen from Taiwan who fuses her roots with classical French cooking. Moving to North America, Diego Hernadez, a leading figure in the new wave of Mexican chefs, will take the kitchen by storm followed by Peter Tempelhoff, one of the most innovative chefs working in South Africa today. Back to the UK and Andre Garrett joins the line up from iconic UK property the Cilveden in Berkshire, then London-based 2 Michelin star chef Arnaud Bignon and the first Peruvian chef to win a Michelin star, Robert Ortiz of Lima Restaurant. Finally Chantelle Nicholson, Marcus Wareing’s right hand, shares the stage with Northcote’s very own Lisa Allen.

Each guest will be treated to a 5-course signature menu together with a Louis Roederer Brut
premier and canapé reception. Food and wine matching at the top of its game as Craig Bancroft, managing director will match a different wine to every single course throughout the 16 nights.
