National food critic gives top rating to Preston fine-dining restaurant Aven
While the restaurant industry faces turbulent times, Aven Restaurant, Preston’s only fine dining establishment, is making the headlines for all of the right reasons. The award-winning 3 AA Rosette restaurant has just received an impressive 9.67 rating from The Times food critic Giles Coren. This high score from one of the UK’s toughest critics shines a well-deserved spotlight on Aven, a culinary gem proudly representing Preston in both the Good Food Guide and the Michelin Guide.
Coren’s glowing review follows a recent feature in the Lancashire Telegraph, which first caught his eye and led him to Aven’s door. Known for championing local, seasonal ingredients and delivering meticulously crafted dishes, Aven’s unique approach to fine dining made a big impression on the critic. Coren highlighted the restaurant’s attention to detail, creative flavors, and elegant execution, crediting the passion of the chefs and the nature of the restaurant Giles said “These are supremely gifted and thoughtful chefs and this is proper Northern hospitality: Original, Modern and Sleek.”
“For us, getting such high praise from Giles Coren is beyond exciting,” says Head Chef Sean Wrest, “This recognition is a testament to our amazing team, our local suppliers, and the loyal community who have supported us from the beginning. We want every guest to feel the magic of what Lancashire has to offer.”
