Michelin Star chef Nigel Haworth backs Youth Zone Easter food initiative
The Michelin-star Chef Nigel Haworth is backing Blackburn Youth Zone to feed over 4,000 families this Easter.
Over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, Blackburn Youth Zone will deliver 500 food parcels containing all the ingredients to make a two-course meal for a family of four. Blackburn Youth Zone is set to launch their ‘Zone to Home’ campaign next month, aiming to provide over 500 families a box which will contain all the ingredients to make a two-course meal for their family. As we remain in such unprecedented times these boxes’ will support some of the most vulnerable young people and families across our borough.
This year the campaign has the support of Michelin-star Chef Nigel Haworth, who has agreed to design an exclusive recipe card for families to enjoy together.
Last year Nigel launched ‘Haworth@Home’, a great opportunity for the public to enjoy gourmet food at home. In support of the ‘Zone to Home’ Nigel has designed two nutritious and exclusive recipes for families to enjoy.
This April Blackburn Youth Zone will be delivering food parcels containing all the ingredients to support and enable families to have a fun and enjoyable meal together.
Last year Blackburn Youth Zone raised £20K, meaning over the bank holiday weekend the charity was able to deliver 500 boxes to families. Due to the incredible support of the campaign the Youth Zone was then able to continue to feed over 4,000 families during the half-term period. This year Blackburn Youth Zone hope to continue that support.
A family who benefited from the campaign last year said:
“We can’t thank Blackburn Youth Zone enough for their support last year. The Zone to Home campaign was great! It brought the whole family together, we had so much fun but it also helped us remembered how important it is to sit down and enjoy a meal together as a family”
Michelin-star Chef Nigel Haworth said:
“It’s such a privilege to help bring tasty food to Blackburn Youth Zone members’ homes across the region through this amazing project. Having designed new recipes for our latest project, Haworth @ Home, we are delighted to share our love of food further through the Zone to Home campaign where I’ll be sharing my secret step-by-step instructions to make a delicious Aubergine Chill and an Apple Crumble for dessert. Through this project, I hope we can encourage families of all ages to work together to create the dishes. I can’t wait to see how they turn out!’
By working with all community partners, Blackburn Youth Zone is determined that the ‘ZONE To HOME’ campaign will be a success and now needs the local businesses and the community to help facilitate this fantastic campaign in a very short period of time.
Blackburn Youth Zone is now calling on the community to support those more vulnerable than themselves. By donating to the campaign will mean Blackburn Youth Zone can purchase enough ingredients to support families this Easter.
Now more than ever it is important for everyone to pull together and support each other. For more information about the campaign please visit:
