Let’s show the world – WE ARE LANCASHIRE
‘Let’s show the world what it means to be Lancastrian’ is the call from Marketing Lancashire as today they launch a social media campaign to help raise awareness of Lancashire Day which takes place each year on 27th November*.
Social media users are asked to illustrate their love of Lancashire landscape, food and culture with photography tweeted on Twitter using #LancashireDay or posting on Visit Lancashire Facebook or Instagram pages. The campaign starts today and runs until 30 November, with Lancastrians all over the world encouraged to share their favourite images of Lancashire. On the day itself, Sunday 27 November, Lancastrians out and about enjoying the county, posting their images, may also win one of a number of spot prizes! Social media users are also invited to sign up to the Lancashire Thunderclap via this link http://bit.ly/2gpAB0J
All tweets and posts between now and 30 November, using #LancashireDay, will be included in the **Grand Lancashire Day prize draw, to win an ‘Escape for the Night’ package for two at Stanley House Hotel & Spa, a year’s supply of Dewlay Lancashire Cheese and a year subscription to Lancashire Life Magazine.
Last year a similar campaign reached over 40 million people in 816 locations worldwide with #LancashireDay trending on Twitter on the 27th November by 9am in the morning.
Head of PR and Communications at Marketing Lancashire, Anna Izza said “We all have our favourite places to visit, a view or location that has special meaning, a restaurant, pub or café where we meet friends, celebrate special occasions and create great memories. Lancashire Day gives us the opportunity to share these and bring friends and relations, in countries across the globe, a little bit closer to home.
“Tell your Lancashire story through pictures and together we’ll show the world what it means to be Lancastrian.”
For information on how to take part and full terms & conditions go to visitlancashire.com/lancashireday where you’ll also find a whole host of ideas and events to celebrate Lancashire Day.
Closing date is Wednesday 30 November 2016. The draw will take place shortly after and the winner notified by the end of December 2016.
