Lancashire’s only Five-Star Holiday Village for 14th consecutive year
Following its busiest ever season on record, the family-owned, Lancashire holiday business, Ribby Hall Village, has recently been awarded a Five Star rating from Visit England for the fourteenth consecutive year. Ribby Hall Village is one of just six accredited five-star holiday Villages in England.
The rating was confirmed following a two-day visit by a Visit England assessor who rated The Village across ten different operational areas. These included reception services, accommodation, shops, bars, restaurants, entertainment, sports facilities, recreation facilities plus atmosphere and ambiance. Every single area received a five-star score.
The assessor was particularly impressed with the covid secure procedures in place, investment that has been made during the pandemic and the excellent levels of cleanliness and general maintenance of facilities throughout The Village.
Positive comments were also made about the quality and choice of restaurants, family activities and sports facilities as well as the helpfulness and friendliness of staff throughout The Village. The assessor praised the owners’ continuing investment which ensures that Ribby Hall Village remains the only five-star holiday village in Lancashire and indeed the northwest of England.
Known for continual investment of company profits, the owners of this multi-award-winning holiday village once again vow to enhance the facilities even further in 2022. Chief Executive Paul Harrison says “Being awarded five-star status for the fourteenth year in a row is a reflection of our continued commitment to providing something new each year for all our customers, both holiday guests and day visitors alike.”
“To maintain our five-star rating over a significant period of time, year on year, we need to keep listening to our customers and to keep enhancing our facilities and choice of offerings”
The immediate focus for the business is to continue its ambitious Reeds Bay development. This prestigious development includes some of the most prestigious holiday homes (for purchase) available anywhere in the UK. The woodland-bordered Reeds Bay covers over 20 acres and features its own five-acre lake alongside 20 properties of the highest specification. Some of these properties are already sold and are in situ with others set to arrive throughout 2022.
Ribby bosses firmly believe that these stunning properties will attract new families and visitors to the area, providing another boost for tourism and related businesses across the Fylde and further afield in Lancashire.
Since reopening the business earlier this year, Ribby’s newest attractions have included a NEW Pancake Hut and the much-anticipated NEW family attraction – a pirate themed Adventure Golf Course. Before the end of 2021 Ribby’s Health Club will also have a completely refurbished gym and The SPA Hotel will be opening a Laurent Perrier Champagne Bar; more details to follow in the coming weeks.
The role that Ribby Hall Village plays in the local community is vitally important to Paul Harrison and his senior team. “The majority of our offering is open to those who live and work nearby, and it’s important to us that the those within the locality are aware of what’s available to them to use and enjoy,
“We have a very loyal customer base and the continuous enhancement of all our facilities will always remain an ongoing priority” explains Paul Harrison.
Ribby Hall Village now employs over 500 people, mostly from the local area. Their recruitment drive continues in earnest, with vacancies available across Ribby’s portfolio.
To John Mcilwham, Director of HR, Estate Maintenance & Safety – providing a fair, positive, and supportive workplace is as important as delivering a successful holiday and leisure operation. Since 2016 the business has held the Gold standard from Investors in People, placing it in the top 2% of employers in the country.
“We will continue to invest in our employees, and we are continuing to look in earnest for new talent to help us maintain the excellent standards we have set for ourselves.” Explains John Mcilwham.
Testament to these standards of excellence are the numerous sought-after awards that Ribby Hall Village has won in recent years, including the Best Day Spa Award for The SPA Hotel, the Health Club of the Year award and Best Customer Service award for The Health Club. As well as the ongoing Five Star rating from Visit England, The SPA Hotel has also retained its Five Bubble rating from the Good Spa Guide.
