Lancashire’s New Visitor Magazine 2017

31 January 2017

Marketing Lancashire, the Destination Management Organisation (DMO) for Lancashire has announced the release of the Official Lancashire Visitor Magazine 2017.

At 146 pages the 2017 Lancashire Magazine is bigger than ever before and available at key attractions, gateways and information centres across the country. It is also available online at visitlancashire.com, the county’s official tourism website which enjoys 6 million page views a year.

With features highlighting Lancashire’s award-winning visitor attractions, the county’s diverse culture and heritage, major events and landmark anniversaries, stunning countryside and inspiring city breaks, as well as some of the best food and drink available anywhere in the UK – the new Lancashire Visitor Magazine is essential reading for anyone planning a short-break or days out in the county in 2017.

The front cover features award-winning Lisa Goodwin-Allen, Executive Head Chef at Michelin-starred Northcote.  Lisa was amongst five leading chefs who prepared a special Lancashire Day lunch for over 30 of the country’s leading food writers, bloggers and broadcasters, to raise awareness of the county’s wealth of quality produce and the skill and talent of our chefs and producers. This event is reported in a delicious six-page feature, with photography of the chefs and the dishes they prepared.

Ruth Connor, Chief Executive of Marketing Lancashire said “The 2017 visitor magazine celebrates the great variety and choice available for short breaks, days out and unique experiences in the Red Rose County. Over 64 million people visit Lancashire each year and our aim is to grow that to 70 million by 2020.  The new–style magazine, visitlancashire.com and our seasonal campaigns play a lead role in growing interest in short breaks and holidays in Lancashire throughout the year.
“Our main aim being to attract more visitors, who stay longer, to ensure the continuing success and growth of Lancashire’s £3.8billion visitor economy.”

Included in the magazine are helpful 24 and 48 hour guides to some of Lancashire’s key destinations, making it much easier to plan a trip. It also offers a birds-eye view of the county, with new aerial photography providing a fresh perspective on some of Lancashire’s rural and architectural landmarks. Articles on screen-tourism, local literary greats and Lancashire Tourism Award winners all add to the reader’s enjoyment and appreciation of this fascinating and distinctive county.
