Lancashire Black Powder Gin is amongst best in the world

Black Powder Gin is delighted to announce that they have won a Gold Outstanding medal for their Flintlock Navy Strength Gin & a Silver medal for their Sidelock London Dry Gin in the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) 2018

Founded in 1969, the IWSC is considered to be the most prestigious competition of its kind in the world.

The awards given by the competition are believed to be among some of the highest honours in the industry. Judging for the competition is unique in that it has two stages; first, the products are tasted blind by expert panels, selected from over 400 fully experienced and qualified industry judges. Products which receive the top medals are then subject to technical analysis before results are released; this crucial stage ensures winners receive complete validation.

Judges comment on the Flintlock Navy Strength Gin –
“Traditionally style London Dry Gin, and then some! Unashamedly old school, with a judicious streak of juniper running through it, the depth and complexity of flavour here is staggering, and staggeringly good! Bitter orange, clove, rooty woods & deep spices, & despite its high alcohol levels the alcohol is exceptionally well integrated, leaving a smooth mellowness on the palate. A gin-lover’s gin, made by a masterful savant/e. Utterly outstanding.”
