Holmes Mill scoops top tourism accolade
Holmes Mill in Clitheroe are celebrating after being named Tourism, Hospitality & Leisure Business of the Year at the Lancashire Business View’s Red Rose Awards 2023 recently.
The converted cotton mill opened in 2015 and has become a well-known leisure destination in the Ribble Valley. Home to Bowland Brewery and Bowland Beer Hall, the site also has a food hall, a duckpin bowling alley, a 39 bedroom hotel, a bistro restaurant, an Everyman Cinema and 13,000 sq ft of serviced office space.
Holmes Mill is part of the Bowland Inns & Hotels group – a collection of nine hospitality and leisure venues across Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales. The group have reported strong trading ahead of budget since the beginning of 2023 with EBITDA tracking 75% up on the last financial year pre-COVID (2018/19).
Mike Auld, Managing Director of Bowland Inns & Hotels, commented: “We are delighted that Holmes Mill was recognised at last night’s awards. We were up against some fantastic tourism businesses from across the region, so it truly is an honour to take home such a prestigious accolade. Lancashire Business View put on another outstanding night of celebrations and it was great to see so many innovative and inspiring Lancashire-based businesses in one room.”
2023 is set to be an exciting year for Bowland Inns & Hotels, following a multi-million-pound finance package with Barclays for Bowland Inns & Hotels last year, they received a £26 million facility to refinance existing debt and provide important funds to support their future acquisition plans. Further announcements around their most recent acquisition are expected in the coming month.
