Doors are open in Lancaster and Fleetwood for Heritage Open Days
Lancashire County Council's historic buildings in Lancaster and Fleetwood will be opening their doors over the weekend of Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September to celebrate an annual heritage event encouraging people to find out more about their local history.
Heritage Open Days offer an opportunity for people to explore their heritage, architecture and culture by getting involved in activities or events, the majority of which are free.
There will be free admission to the venues over the weekend, with specially arranged events.
Activities include free guided tours at Lancaster Castle and visiting the secluded garden at the Judges' Lodgings Museum. Visitors to Lancaster City Museum will be able to enjoy a 'Meet the First World War Soldier' event on both days, during the afternoon.
There will also be free admission to The Cottage at Lancaster and to Fleetwood Museum.

• Lancaster Maritime Museum
