Dirty Dancing Cast Wow In Blackpool’s Tower Ballroom
Cast members from Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story on Stage took some time out from their Blackpool run to join fellow dancers in the town’s historic Tower Ballroom.
The hit stage show is currently wowing audiences at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens where it has just begun a brand new production which runs until August 30.
And leading cast members Carlie Milner and Karl James Wilson, who play dancers Penny and Johnny, took a break from the show by heading to the world-famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom dancefloor with their sensational Mambo.
The pair performed for a packed Ballroom before inviting dancers to join them to learn a few Dirty Dancing steps with the chance to win tickets to see the show.
Brenda and Peter Vaughan from Ripon in North Yorkshire visit Blackpool twice a month to dance in the Ballroom and were delighted to win tickets.
Brenda said: “I have never seen the show so I’m delighted. It gives you so much pleasure to watch talented dancers so it will be great to go and see Dirty Dancing.
“We always appreciate dance and performance so we are really excited to have won.”
Meanwhile, budding dancers Georgia Hill and Henry Beale from Burnley also snapped up a pair of tickets after wowing everyone with their moves.
Georgia, 10, and Henry, 11, will be going to see Dirty Dancing with their mums who are huge fans of the movie and musical production.
Georgia’s mum Joanne added: “We come here regularly so the children can dance so this is a real surprise to win the tickets to Dirty Dancing.
“It’s a fantastic show and I will certainly look forward to seeing it again.”
This new tour of Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage is the first time the show has come to Blackpool and follows two blockbuster West End runs, two hit UK tours, and various sensational international productions.
The show is the classic story of Baby and Johnny, featuring the hit songs 'Hungry Eyes', ‘Hey! Baby’, ‘Do You Love Me?’ and the heart stopping ‘(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life.
