Christmas is all wrapped up at Blackpool Zoo
Blackpool Zoo has Christmas all wrapped up for families this year, from giving parents the chance of a child free shopping day to unusual gifts that are perfect for any animal lover.
On Saturday 19th December the zoo will be hosting a special Keeper Kids Christmas event for eight to 12 year olds, giving parents the chance to catch up on those festive ‘to do’ lists.
Starting at 10.30am the fun filled day includes creating crackers for the residents of the Children’s Farm, wrapping presents for the meerkat mob and baby gorillas and filling sacks of goodies for the otters.
The children will also get the chance to decorate Christmas trees for the penguins and primates and help to get the reindeers ready for their busiest time of the year!
Of course, it just wouldn’t be Christmas without the big man himself and everyone will get the chance to meet Father Christmas and will receive a gift from him.
For anyone looking for a gift for that impossible to buy for friend or relative, a visit to Blackpool Zoo will solve a multitude of problems.
Buy for an entire family in one go with a magical family membership, which offers unlimited entry to the zoo until the end of 2016. It also includes a whole host of additional benefits such as discounts in shops, cafes and on adoptions and parties.
If you want to give the gift of adventure why not opt for one of the amazing animal experiences on offer.
The latest addition to the list of must-sees at Blackpool Zoo has proven p.p.p.p.popular this year. The penguin experience gives visitors the chance to prepare food for and hand feed these beautiful birds in their home at the Active Oceans Arena.
Other incredible experiences include feeding the big cats, being a bird or sealion trainer and meeting lemurs or tapirs. For those that can’t choose which they love the most there is the ever-popular Keeper For The Day programme too.
Animal adoption packages, gifts from the zoo’s shops and family day tickets and would also make perfect stocking fillers.
Jude Rothwell, Marketing and PR Co-ordinator, said: “Christmas is always a magical time of the year here at Blackpool Zoo and this year we wanted to create a day to remember for our younger fans.
“The special Keeper Kids programme has been designed to be a packed day of festive fun and will also give mums and dads the chance to get some Christmas shopping done too.
“Blackpool Zoo is open every day of the year apart from Christmas Day, so a visit to our animals can help people work off those extra mince pies too!
“We have, once again, enjoyed a fantastic year with record visitor numbers and lots of super cute new babies. We would like to wish all our visitors past, present and future a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
