Chief Executive meets Hot Shot
Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board (LBTB) Chief Executive, Mike Wilkinson took time out to present local chef, Robbie Walls, who works at the Shireburn Arms Hotel, with his commemorative HotShots menu.
Robbie, aged 21, cooked up a storm with an inspirational menu when he was the latest to take part in the Lancashire HotShots initiative. Lancashire HotShots gives young chefs a chance to take over the kitchen of a Taste Lancashire accredited establishment, design a menu and deliver a gourmet meal to customers who pay £15 a head in the hope of discovering the next Haworth, Heathcote or Blumenthal!
Robbie’s menu, on Wednesday 15 July, included such delights as Sardine fillets coated in oats, served with pear chutney; Courgette Flowers stuffed with sautéed courgette, red onion and goats cheese, and a sublime Apple & Vanilla Mille Feuille with Bramley apple sorbet – a sweet which, on the night, converted one confirmed savoury-lover to dessert fan!.
