Building Work and New Business at Leisure Park.
If you’ve been to Lancaster Leisure Park in recent weeks, you’ll have seen a few changes. It’s a period of much excitement at the park. After planning permission was granted recently, building work has now begun and Miller Homes are on site erecting some of the 71 houses planned for development over the next three years. Part of the project sees a complete revamp of Lancaster Leisure Park’s, drives and car parking facilities. Already the Go Kart track has gone to make way for a brand new car park, near to GB Antiques Centre, which will add to the already ample parking and double the amount of disabled spaces available. In order to get the main services to the housing plots, the main drive has been dug up, but there is still easy access to all the attractions on the park.
But that’s not the only building work taking place at the moment. Next to the CountryStyle Meats Farm Shop, a brand new restaurant is in the process of being built. From the early summer (date to be announced), customers will be able to enjoy an eating experience that lets them savour all the wonderful meats and delicacies sold in the impressive farm shop.
And finally amongst the building works, an established photography business has moved into the old gift shop and will be opened in time for Easter.
Allan Blackburn, Owner of the park explains “I’ve been on this site for 25 years and never seen so much improvement, changes and development all at the same time. I have had a few late nights, I can tell you! I’m thrilled to see the housing development finally start, as it’s been a dream of mine to have housing on this site for many years. The team at the farm shop are looking forward to offering their customers a stunning new restaurant and I can reveal that plans for the 2015 Food and Drink Festival are well under way. Add to this a new tenant in the shape of Cheryl Mulqueeney, a fabulous family portrait photographer and the site is a place of growth, success and new enterprise. It may be a bit wet due to the amount of rain we’ve had recently, but we ask our visitors to bear with us. It’s all happening so fast that it’s looking better all the time and we know that most of the new car park will be finished by Easter”.
