Board Enjoys New Conference Facilities
Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board (LBTB) chose the new Oswaldtwistle Mills Business and Conference Centre, as the place to host their AGM and Board meeting on Tuesday 8 September 2009.
Situated within the Mills grounds overlooking the fishing lake, the centre features furnished offices up to 10,000 sq ft which can be broken up into flexible formats to suit any business; conference and board room hire, telephone and broadband internet connection and access to all office appliances including faxing, photocopying and scanning.
Mike Wilkinson, LBTB Chief Executive commenting on the centre said “Today we’ve enjoyed an AGM and Board Meeting that reported positive results in the annual accounts for 2008/09 financial year and welcomed two new Board Directors to the company. I’m delighted both by this and the surroundings in which the meeting took place. Lancashire has very many interesting and unusual places for business tourism. With the addition of Oswaldtwistle Mills Business and Conference Centre to this portfolio we see one of the region’s flagship attractions matched with a thoroughly professional new business hub.”
The agenda at the meeting considered reports relating to the recent £500K marketing campaign for Blackpool, a new £260K investment by the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) into the development of business tourism across the county, as well as discussing how Lancashire can maximise the benefits of the London 2012 Games. The Board also welcomed new Board Directors, County Councillors Tim Ashton and Jim Lawrenson, both from Lancashire County Council.
Boyd Hargreaves, Managing Director at Oswaldtwistle Mills, said: “It is great that colleagues from the Tourist Board have been able to come and make use of our new business centre.
