Blackpool’s BLVD Hotel named best Luxury Hotel in Europe
BLVD Hotel in Blackpool is officially the best luxury hotel on the continent, after scooping a prestigious accolade at the World Luxury Hotel Awards.
The seafront hotel was declared the Best Luxury Hotel in Northern Europe at the awards this weekend, which were voted for by luxury travelers.
Top hoteliers from around the world gathered at Grand Hyatt Athens in Greece to see the winners crowned from more than 2,000 nominees at the high profile ceremony.
Nominations are evaluated based on service delivery, luxury and presentation, as well as consistent feedback from guests, before being determined eligible. The awards, now in their 17th year, are then voted for by more than 300,000 guests and industry players.
Other UK hotels awarded include Barnsley House Hotel in the Cotswolds for Best Luxury Spa Hotel, The Caledonian in Edinburgh for Best Luxury Historical Hotel, and London’s Waldorf Astoria for Best Luxury City Hotel.

BLVD Hotel is the latest addition to Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s accommodation offering, which also includes the adjacent Big Blue Hotel. Both properties are part of the Blackpool Pleasure Beach portfolio which has been operated by the Thompson family since the resort’s inception in 1896.

The £12 million BLVD Hotel opened in 2019 with 120 stylish room, all with either coastal vistas or direct views of the attractions and rollercoasters at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
