Bigtank showcases Edge Hill’s SME Productivity and Innovation Centre
Edge Hill University and Bigtank Productions have completed work on a video campaign highlighting the work happening in the SME Product and Innovation Centre in the University’s Ormskirk Campus.
As former delegates on the SME PIC’s Innovation Sprint Programme, Bigtank were approached to pitch for the opportunity to work on a series which captured the stories of former delegates and how the knowledge they have gained form the course is changing their businesses for the better.
Kath Connell-Welsh, Marketing Coordinator from Edge Hill said: ‘Bigtank demonstrated a clear understanding of what we wanted to achieve through the series of videos and was able to structure the shoot and questions around the brief. The focus was to capture the impact and quantifiable benefits that the scale-up strategy developed on the programme, had on each organisation. We felt Bigtank illustrated our requirements well within their proposal, and we are delighted with the finished videos’.
After succeeding in securing the project the Bigtank team visited six businesses (Inscape Interiors, KM Accountants, Door 4, Wilson Mason, Viva PR, and Bright LED) and heard how the Innovation Sprint programme has encouraged a mindset shift which is opening new opportunities. All business leaders were joined by the Edge Hill team, who coached each participant throughout, and shared their stories of working with the companies.
Produced over the spring/summer period the videos have given the Edge Hill team a unique way of marketing the programme to businesses during the pandemic where physical networking and onsite training are difficult. The programme is the brainchild of Prof Simon Bolton who said: ‘The series of videos has provided us with high quality testimonials of how our programme can really support and impact on SMEs with scale-up potential. Our programme is intensive, but SMEs who successfully complete the programme, leave with a cohesive strategy for growth, and the results speak for themselves’.
The content is used as part of the SME PIC’s social media strategy to appeal to SMEs from across Lancashire and Liverpool City Region, who can benefit from the programme and are available to view online on Edge Hill’s YouTube channel and website
