Apprenticeship opportunities at South Ribble Borough Council
South Ribble Borough Council has launched the next round of the Apprentice Factory. There are six new apprenticeships available offering training and qualification opportunities at various levels. The opportunities are across all departments including Neighbourhood Services, Environmental Health and Communications offering varied roles in business, digital marketing and building control.
The Class of 2019 training programme lasts up to 2 years with time spent at college and training on the job.
The previous cohort of Apprentice Factory trainees at South Ribble Borough Council have all now progressed to higher level qualifications and permanent jobs with the council.
David Holgate who was part of the Class of 2017 at South Ribble Borough Council said: “It is a great opportunity. I joined through the scheme and now I am studying for a Business Management Degree and have a permanent position as an Audit and Risk Assistant.”
Councillor Bill Evans, Cabinet Member for Planning, Regeneration and City Deal said: “We really do practice what we preach at South Ribble Borough Council. Our Apprentice Factory programme is available for our employees and also for businesses in South Ribble offering help to secure apprentices and assisting them to develop the highly skilled, productive workforce of the future.”
Apprenticeships are open to anyone of any age, looking to start, develop or change their job and career prospects.
South Ribble Borough Council is currently the best public sector apprentice employer in Lancashire with the highest percentage of their workforce employed under the apprenticeships scheme.

Policy Performance Trainee
Business Engagement Assistant
Regulatory Apprentice Environmental Health
Digital Marketing Assistant
Waste/Neighbourhood Apprentice
Building Control Apprentice
