5 March 2025

Accrington Stanley have announced that their eagerly anticipated Open Iftar Event will take place on Sunday 16th March at the Wham Stadium.

Accrington Stanley hosted their first Iftar event on Tuesday night (4 March)

The club’s fans and people from the Muslim community are being encouraged to attend the event together, which will get underway at 5:30pm, with the opening of the fast taking place at 6:19pm.

Those attending will receive a special Iftar food box to enjoy, with a prayer room located in ‘The Snug’ within the club’s world class hospitality venue, while a group photo will take place in the stands at the Wham Stadium and the local Imaan will lead the prayer after the fast has been opened with dates and water.

To secure your free ticket for the Iftar event, visit the Accrington Stanley club shop or call the club on 01254 356950.

The club has received a Community Cohesion and Resilience Funding Grant from Hyndburn Borough Council to host the event following a successful fundraising bid, which will now allow Stanley to continue delivering initiatives to positively impact the local community.

Alongside the Open Iftar Event, Accrington Stanley have been running community cohesion workshops in local secondary schools, with those taking part in the workshops invited to take part in the club’s ‘walk to the match’ initiative which took place on Tuesday 4th March, and saw over 150 students and family members enjoying Iftar food boxes before heading to the Wham Stadium.

Warren Eastham, CEO at Accrington Stanley, said: “This is a fantastic event which we are proud to be hosting here at Accrington Stanley, and we look forward to seeing all the community coming together as one.”
