‘A Brief Encounter with Leighton Hall’ is UK Finalist
Carnforth Station Heritage Centre’s joint entry with Leighton Hall – ‘A Brief Encounter with Leighton Hall’ has been selected from over 100 nominations as one of the best examples in the ‘Making Coaches a Better Choice’ category of the UK Coach Awards 2018.
The Award is designed to recognise initiatives big or small, which genuinely improve life for coach operators, coach drivers .jpg)
and of course, their passengers.
The overall winner will be announced on May 10th.
Following the successful ‘pilot’ venture in 2017, Carnforth Station Heritage Centre have again teamed up with their close neighbours, Leighton Hall to bring coach parties and groups a unique experience at two complementing, award winning attractions.
Visiting the Heritage Centre in the morning guests will discover a fascinating range of exhibition areas and the famous Refreshment Rooms where part of the iconic movie ‘Brief Encounter’ was filmed. Then it’s off for the short journey to Leighton Hall, home of the famous Gillow furniture making family. After a light lunch or afternoon tea, guests can enjoy a fully guided house tour, beautiful grounds and weather 
permitting, a birds of prey display.
Response to this innovative day out has been so good it has become a permanent fixture in both venues ‘Groups’ calendar and pre booked parties are welcome throughout the year to ‘travel back in time’
