Lord Shuttleworth said: “Once more, I am honoured to be presenting British Empire Medals on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen to residents of Lancashire. It is a privilege to make these presentations and to meet the recipients.”
The recipients will be:
*Mrs Anita Castellina from Thornton Cleveleys. For services to the community in Cannock.
*Mrs Kathryn Heyworth from Burnley. For services to the community in Burnley.
*Mrs Gail Humphreys from Preston. For services to Troubled Families in Liverpool.
About the British Empire Medal (BEM):
The BEM rewards an achievement or contribution of a ‘hands-on’ service to the community in a local geographical area.
This might take the form of sustained commitment in support of local charitable and/or voluntary activity, or innovative work that has delivered real impact.
At all levels, awards illuminate areas of dedicated service which merit public recognition.
