The sun sets on a successful summer of free fun!
The Mall Blackburn’s three-week nature themed free fun extravaganza has drawn to a close after more than 1400 children enjoyed the delights of the great outdoors…indoors!
Willowy Woods, which was a bespoke set commissioned by The Mall, was a huge hit with little shoppers and their parents.
The Wild Man of the Woods, Mr Beetle, majestic birds of prey, magical woodland fairies, land artists, the Lancashire Wildlife Trust and Marsden Park Forest School kept children entertained for hours on end during the final three weeks of the school holidays.
Loraine Jones, General Manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “When we launched Willowy Woods we had one goal in mind, to provide free nature inspired activities that would help parents keep the little ones entertained without breaking the bank!
“I can confidently say that was achieved as children flocked to meet our performers and take part in exciting events.
“The countryside that surrounds our beautiful county is awe-inspiring but, with busy lives and often adverse weather, children don’t get the chance to go out and enjoy everything on offer.
“We hand picked some of the most respected experts and celebrated nature artists and performers who helped us inspire a love of the outdoors!”
