Stanley House Hotel and Spa unveils new-look bedrooms
The award-winning Stanley House Hotel and Spa has revealed a first glimpse of its six-figure renovation project.
Extensive refurbishment of the hotel’s bridal suites and a further two Manor House bedrooms are nearing completion. Renovation will then commence on the hotel’s multi-purpose function rooms.
The project is being led by Lake District-based interior designer, Sarah Jane Nielsen, renowned for work at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in London’s Mayfair. Her hotel portfolio, includes the creation of the Spa lodges and Gilpin Spice at the Lake District’s Gilpin Lodge. This work gained national recognition, winning the prize for ‘Hotel Interiors’ at the United Kingdom Property Awards 2016-17.
The hotel’s directors say the investment will help create a hotel like no other. Philip Wharton, general manager, said: “We believed it was time to modernise and refurbish some of our bedrooms and function suites so they are on par with the international class of our Woodlands and Spa building.
“The new contemporary feel will appeal to senior business partners and wedding clients. Our advisors have worked with the finest hotels in the UK and so there is no doubt that Stanley House’s offering will be unrivalled in the region.”
Sarah Jane Nielsen, of Sarah Jane Nielsen Ltd, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Stanley House Hotel and Spa. We felt a strong bond with the family, the directors and their values so fully embraced the opportunity to bring interiors of the stunning Grade II listed building in line with guest expectations.
“Each individual’s stay is often short and so making the best possible impression in that window of opportunity is vital. The results so far offer a contemporary design edge to excite the guest but a clear hold on Stanley House’s sophisticated intrigue and reflection of its history.”
A contemporary scheme of fabrics, finishes and materials have been selected to be representative of the luxury and quality demanded by the hotel industry’s customers. Wallcoverings have been sourced from interior design leaders, Cole & Son, Thibaut and Lewis & Wood while fabrics in the new rooms boast names such as Zoffany and Elitis.
The hotel will complete the bedroom renovations by the end of April.
