University shortlisted for two prestigious awards
Edge Hill University has today (6 April) been shortlisted for two prestigious national awards.
The University has been named as a contender for ‘Workplace of the Year’ and in the ‘Outstanding Administrative Services Team’ category by Times Higher Education.
The illustrious awards, known as the Thelmas, recognise leadership and management across the UK’s higher education sector.
John Cater, Vice-Chancellor of Edge Hill University, said: “We’re delighted that yet again we’ve been shortlisted for the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards.
“We want all our staff to feel happy to come to work and proud when they go home, as we believe that fully engaged and motivated staff deliver outstanding performance which in turn delivers an exceptional student experience.”
Ensuring pay equality, support for staff with disabilities and high satisfaction levels all helped the University be shortlisted as ‘Workplace of the Year’ alongside an extensive programme of staff health and well-being events.
The Finance Team’s work on a range of projects transforming the University’s financial systems and customer service helped them secure their place in the shortlist.
Winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on Thursday 22 June, attended by politicians, senior sector figures and academic and professional staff from universities across the UK.
