A Taste of Passion – An evening with ‘Il Signore Vino Italiano’, Luca Dusi

Italians may not have invented wine, but they more than anyone else throughout the ages have demonstrated a serious passion for it.

We all know that Italian’s are passionate people to start with – for them romance, art, food, culture and family are of the utmost importance. Wine is also a very important part of everyday Italian life…

Perhaps the epitome of all things Italian and especially of all things wine related is 'Il Signore Vino Italiano', Luca Dusi.

Foodies and wine buffs alike are in for a bit of rare treat as they are invited to join Luca Dusi and Hipping’s Hall’s head chef Oli Martin, to sample a little ‘Passione Italiana’, on 23rd September, for what promises to be an insightful evening of fine Italian wine and modern British cuisine.

Martin one of the North West’s leading emerging chefs, already with three AA rosettes to his name, will prepare a six course tasting menu to accompany six of the finest Italian wines specially selected for the evening by Luca. 

From 7pm Luca will talk to guests about his wine choices for the evening and offer an insight into his passion for Italy’s artisan wine producers – a passion he has nurtured for the last 15 years.

As a native of Verona, home to the most romantic couple in history and at the heart of the Valpolicella country it’s no surprise Dusi is so passionate about wine…

As a boy, Luca grew up around wine, his father had a small holding producing wine, it is here that he learnt to drink and understand local wines from a VERY young age. It is this deep rooted understanding, which led him to start his wine importing business Passione Vino in 2003.

Luca now specialises in importing wines from his native country made by small artisan producers to the UK, supplying many of London’s top restaurants and in collaboration with Yorkshire based wine merchant Buon Vino a select band of foodie hotspots across the north of England, including Hipping Hall are now able to share the secret of authentic Italy.
