Hilarious Ferris & Milnes to open the show at West End Proms
Musical comedy double act Ferris & Milnes are to join the line-up for the West End Proms at Lytham Festival.
The duo, made up of Dominic Ferris and Martin Milnes, offers an eclectic and packed musical programme including Broadway and Hollywood favourites plus pop classics, which will have theatre lovers dancing in the aisles.
The pair were due to perform on the Church Stage but will now open the show as part of the packed line-up at Lytham Festival’s West End Proms on Sunday 7 August.
Ferris & Milnes said: “We’re delighted to be moving our performance to an even bigger venue to allow more people the chance to see the show.
“The line-up for West End Proms is incredible and we’re looking forward to opening the show with our very own brand of frolicsome frivolity the like of which you’ve never seen before.
“Please join us on the night for what promises to be a spectacular finale to Lytham Festival.”
Performing a 30-minute set all presented with Ferris & Milnes’ ‘banteriffic’ comedy style, the opener is sure to have audiences laughing their socks off.
Described as “hilarious” by The Telegraph, West End Frame commented that Ferris & Milnes are “the most exciting musical theatre double act to be discovered in years”.
Combined the duo blend comedy, music and vocals in a dynamic cocktail of explosive Broadway glamour and fun that you don’t want to miss.
Lytham Festival Director Peter Taylor added “We’re incredibly excited to have Ferris & Milnes opening the show at the West End Proms.
“Their musical theatre and comedy mash-up style is the perfect addition to the line-up on the night and we’re sure that people are going to love it.
“This will be their only performance to date in the North of England this year which makes it even more special – you really don’t want to miss it.”
Also on the bill for the West End Proms are musical theatre boyband Collabro and stars of the stage Claire Sweeney, Ramin Karimloo, Ruthie Henshall, Lucie Mae-Sumner, Lea Salonga and Blackpool born Jodie Prenger.
A host of other artists will also will also perform throughout the Festival’s fringe events across five stages throughout the week. Highlights include country duo The Shires on the Pavilion Stage on Tuesday 2 August and the 11-piece, genre defying Fire Beneath The Sea on the World Jazz Stage on Friday 5 August, plus much more besides.
There will also be special outdoor film screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Labyrinth at Lytham Hall and the UK’s largest ever seaside cinema will showcase Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the Lytham Green Proms Arena.
