There’s a lot to experience in 2016
There is an exciting events programme taking place in Preston in 2016 that caters for everyone. Whether you’re interested in the quality, British-made goods that will be available at this year’s Best of Britannia in the Old Post Office; are counting down the days until this year’s RockPrest – the tribute band music festival returning to Moor Park; or are holding out for the return of the cultural extravaganza that was Lancashire Encounter; you have a lot to look forward to.
Other highlights in this year’s programme include the ever-popular Preston Easter tradition of Egg Rolling on Avenham and Miller Parks; Armed Forces Day in the city centre; and the Christmas Festival on the Flag Market. Preston will also host a diverse selection of smaller-scale events throughout the year, including entertainment on the Flag Market, and Park Ranger led activities on the city’s parks.
Councillor Veronica Afrin, Executive member for culture and leisure, said:
“It’s great to see so much happening in Preston, and that event organisers are choosing to come back to host their events, like Best of Britannia and RockPrest, again this year.
“The team put a lot of work in behind the scenes to offer something for everyone, and I can’t wait to see what else is in store.”
