Coastal Communities funding brings business boost to South Ribble

BUSINESSES in the Western parishes of South Ribble can benefit from a boost of cash from the Coastal Communities Funding.
 
The funding has been awarded to the Western area of the borough which will include Longton, New Longton, Much Hoole, Little Hoole, Hutton West and Howick and Priory.
 
The funding will offer free, confidential support to existing businesses who want to expand and to people who would like to start a brand new business.
 
The service will be delivered by Orvia, which has over 20 years’ experience of providing consistent, quality, independent help and support to both individuals and new businesses.
 
South Ribble Economic Development team works with new investors, growing businesses and new start-ups in the borough to make sure they can access the support they need to develop and grow. The Coastal Communities scheme is just one part of this wider package of support available.    
 
The Coastal Communities funding will provide a range of support from practical workshops about starting up in business to one to one support from a dedicated and experienced mentor tailored to your needs. 
 
The Coastal Communities project also offers the opportunity to apply for a small grant to support business development as well as access to a business incubation facility and assistance in helping you find premises should you need them.
 
Councillor Phil Smith, South Ribble Borough Council cabinet member for regeneration and leisure said: “To have this funding from Coastal Communities Fund injected into the borough will be extremely helpful for local businesses and local people.
 
“The support and advice offered is second to none and the council have worked extremely hard to secure this funding.
 
“This scheme sits alongside the wider support we offer for businesses across South Ribble and it will bring a much needed boost to help local businesses flourish and expand.”
