Deck the Hall at Lancaster Castle
A popular celebration of Christmas in words and music is returning to Lancaster Castle.
'Deck the Hall with Boughs of Holly' features a diverse range of festive carols, sketches, verse and prose, songs, letters and journals.
The show is being performed on Thursday 17 December, Friday 18 December and Saturday 19 December.
Colin Penny, Lancashire County Council's museum manager at the castle, said: "Deck the Hall has definitely been established as a seasonal favourite.
"It is performed in the wonderful setting of the Shire Hall, and it is a superb blend of new material and old favourites that really get the family in a festive mood for Christmas."
The show is performed by Lancaster Castle's resident professional theatre company, Demi-Paradise Productions.
Local artist Bekah Sloan will make her directing debut. The show features an incredibly talented company of five actor-readers together with female A cappella singing partners, Five in a Bar, under the musical direction of Jude Glendinning.
This year's show is inspired by the 70th anniversary of the ending of World War Two. The narrative includes tragedy and loss and the ability of the human spirit to overcome adversity.
Elisa Cowley, Matt Connell and David Findlay will also be making their acting debut alongside established favourite, Helen Longworth.
Doors will open at 7pm and the performance on each night will start at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £13 for adults and £6.50 for children. This includes a glass of mulled wine or a soft drink and a mince pie.
