More Top West End Shows Head to Blackpool for 2016

Blackpool Winter Gardens today announces a further two best-selling shows for 2016.
Family favourite THE SOUND OF MUSIC is heading to the Opera House in July for what promises to be a spectacular five-star production and just a few weeks earlier jukebox musical Save the Last Dance For Me will take audiences back to the magic and music of the early 60s.
Both productions are presented by Bill Kenwright and follow the announcement last month that Dirty Dancing, Blood Brothers and JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT will all take to the Opera House stage in 2016.

Winter Gardens Managing Director Michael Williams said the schedule for 2016 is looking fantastic.

Mr Williams said: “We are delighted to be announcing a further two shows for 2016. The year ahead is looking great and I have no doubt we will enjoy a fantastic year.

“We want to ensure there is as much variety on offer as possible giving people the opportunity to enjoy some absolutely amazing productions.

“Whether that is shows suitable for all the family, young and old, or a more mature audience, our calendar of musicals is shaping up very nicely for 2016.

“Both THE SOUND OF MUSIC and Save The Last Dance For Me are great additions to that calendar and we look forward to welcoming the productions as well as audiences throughout next year.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC is at the Blackpool Opera House from Tuesday 5 to Saturday 9 July but no details of casting have yet been released.
 
And from Tuesday May 31 to Saturday June 4 Save The Last Dance For Me will take audiences back to a time when each passing week brought another Rock ‘n’ Roll classic. This nostalgic, feel-good journey will transport people back to music’s golden era as it follows two teenage sisters through the summer of 1963. The show will feature the classic hits of Pomus & Shuman including A Teenager in Love; Sweets for my Sweet; Viva Las Vegas; Can’t Get Used to Losing You and Save the Last Dance For Me

Tickets for all three shows will go on sale at 9am Friday November 27.

And in a move sure to please bargain hunters, tickets for THE SOUND OF MUSIC and Save The Last Dance For Me will be included in the Winter Gardens Black Friday deals offering people the opportunity to buy one get one free on all £15 and £19.50 tickets. The sale starts at 00.01 on Friday November 27 and runs for a week until midnight Thursday December 3.
