Fairhaven Lake jetty restoration completed
Fylde Council is delighted to announce the completion of the Fairhaven Lake Jetty restoration project, ensuring the continuation of much-loved water-based activities at the popular coastal destination.

Thanks to funding and support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, essential structural repairs have been carried out on the main jetty, which had previously been at risk of collapse due to large voids in the concrete and degraded metal retaining walls. The vital works have extended the lifespan of the jetty for many years to come, preserving an important facility for both residents and visitors.
Alongside the structural repairs, several improvements have been made to enhance safety and usability. The jetty now benefits from a new wooden ground covering, a heritage-style handrail, new fenders, and marine-style lamp posts to allow for extended use later into the evenings.
Lead Member for Tourism and Leisure, Councillor Jayne Nixon, said: “We are thrilled to see the completion of this fantastic project, which not only protects the future of the jetty but also enhances the overall experience for visitors to Fairhaven Lake. Water-based activities are a key part of what makes Fairhaven such a special place, and these improvements will ensure the facility can continue to be enjoyed for many years to come. We are incredibly grateful to the National Lottery Heritage Fund for their support.”
The jetty is used by the Fylde Boat Service team, who offer canoe, kayak, pedalo, and motorboat hire, alongside the council’s water sports service. It is also a hub for many resident clubs and groups, including the Ribble Cruising Club, Fairhaven Model Boaters, Sea Scouts, and the Fylde SUP group.
The Fylde Boat Service will reopen on Saturday 5th April. For more information on Fairhaven’s water-based activities, clubs, and groups, visit: Fairhaven Lake – Discover Fylde.
