Black Friday Bonanza
As Amazon, Asda and Argos prepare for the busiest shopping day of the year, the Winter Gardens Blackpool have launched their own Black Friday promotion slashing prices on 15 events by as much as 75% for a 24 hour flash sale this Friday.
For millions of people Black Friday is the time to do some serious Christmas shopping, Black Friday is an American tradition and is the first Friday after Thanksgiving each year, it's one of the major shopping days of the year in the United States -falling anywhere between November 23 and 29. The term “Black Friday” was coined in the 1960s to mark the kick-off to the Christmas shopping season. “Black” refers to stores moving from the “red” to the “black,” back when accounting records were kept by hand, and red ink indicated a loss, and black a profit.
Unlike many retailers The Winter Gardens won’t be relying on sales to turn red to black as previously reported the venue is set to make a profit after revealing over 1 million people have visited the historic venue in the past 12 months, topping an incredible 2014 which has included being awarded the prestigious Cultural Venue of the year and Business and Conference centre of the year award at Marketing Lancashire’s annual awards ceremony.
Discounts include up to 31% of seats to hit show Jesus Christ Superstar while the festive films have been slashed to just £1 and Illuminasia reduced to just £5 in a set of savings worth of £70.
A Winter Gardens Spokesperson comments ‘We’ve had a fantastic year and wanted to give something back ahead of Christmas to our patrons’ Spokesperson continues ‘Black Friday is an ideal time when people are looking for savings and Christmas gift ideas, we’ve put together a wide range of events and offers to encourage more people to enjoy what we have offer’
