Twilight session on the 8th for students and parents of all age groups
VENUE: UCLAN, Preston Campus
Preston EXPO is organised by The Via Partnership, working in conjunction with local schools, Training Providers and Businesses. The event provides an opportunity for local year 8 students (aged 12-13) to experience a series of inspiring and interactive presentations and activities from local companies. The event informs the future career choices of young people and inspired them to think about what they want to do when they leave school.
We are looking for organisations to support the event and provide services of interactive and exciting short workshops that showcase their provision, job roles and industry. Last year over 30 different organisations supported this event and provided students with fantastic opportunities to find out more. Teachers were also being provided with opportunities to build links with providers that can be taken forward and integrated into future teaching.
The event will also support schools in providing support for the Statutory provision of Career Guidance including:
- Securing access to independent face-to-face careers guidance
- Assuring the quality of external providers of careers guidance
- Providing other careers activities for young people
- Working with education and training providers
