AFC Fylde Community Foundation helping people to get ‘work ready’
Fylde Council have announced a new partnership with AFC Fylde Community Foundation to support the delivery of their ‘Work Readiness’ programme, made possible through Fylde Council’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) allocation.
AFC Fylde Community Foundation have extensive experience in providing positive employment outcomes for people between the ages of 16 and 65 and have successfully been providing UKSPF funded employment support for Fylde residents since January 2023.
This exciting new project will support people over the age of 18 years who are furthest from the workplace, who have not been in employment, education or training for at least 6 months, and face significant barriers.
The ‘Training Ground’ work readiness programme will present an opportunity for participants to gain a Level 3 accredited qualification combined with increased skills development through peer group mentoring, moving them closer to the job market.
Wes Partington, Director of AFC Fylde Community Foundation, said: “We are once again delighted to be working alongside Fylde Council and our local partners to improve the skills and confidence of our residents, helping them to become more work ready. The programme will cover a range of topics designed to meet individual needs and overcome barriers to finding employment.”
This new programme builds on the previous successes of UKSPF-powered employment and skills projects administered by AFC Fylde Community Foundation, leveraging their existing relationships with residents and businesses, and continuing to positively impact the lives of people in Fylde.
