Superheroes Launch Cash for Kids Campaign
DJ’s Hywel and Jamie from Rock FM’s breakfast show donned the Batman and Ironman outfits and took on a number of challenges in a bid to promote the Cash for Kids Superhero day on Friday 2nd May. It is fun and easy to get involved, with the Rock FM website offering lots of fundraising ideas and suggestions.
Cash for Kids is the official charity of Rock FM & Magic 999 and provides grants to disabled and disadvantaged children across Lancashire. In 2013 Rock FM Cash for Kids raised over £570,000 and supported over 23,000 local children.
The superhero challenges were all at height and included cargo nets; wobble beams, rope bridges, swaying ladder crossings, and stepping logs. Kaos indoor High Wire Adventure is a family friendly experience suitable for anyone aged 5 years and over. The Centre offers participants a chance to experience 18 obstacles positioned at a height of 2.5m. The course is unique in that participants have the freedom to decide which obstacles they tackle and when, enabling people to design their own experience.
The event was made possible through the support of Kaos High Wire Adventure, Director; Sarah Ansell said “Kaos High Wire Adventure really pushed the superheroes to their limits and shows that it is great fun and exciting for people of all ages. We are proud to help Cash for Kids, a charity that makes a real difference to the lives of local children.”
DJ Hywel of Rock FM said "I had my heart in my mouth, but I had to swallow my fear and do it for the kids. I was buzzing with adrenaline for the rest of the day. It is a great start to Cash for Kids superhero day, now get involved and plan your fundraising fun”.
