Social Media
To boost the site we believe it is important to have a popular profile via social media channels – such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr. The social sites give us the opportunity to talk to a wider audience, build up conversations and relationships with both visitors and businesses and spread our messages even further.
E-newsletters
We regularly send out e-newsletters to our visitor database which currently stands at over 40,000 consumers and growing. The e-newsletters are linked to marketing campaigns which Lancashire tourism businesses can buy into and be a part of. The e-newsletters act as a signpost to the site where the visitors can find lots more information, download offers and enter prize draws.
Campaigns
Over the summer we ran a Family Fun campaign – Parents Survival to Lancashire – an annual campaign which is always very popular with families during the school holidays and once again brought many new visitors to the site. The current Halloween campaign on visitlancashire.com is already in our ‘Top Ten’ most viewed pages along with Bonfire Night, promoting some of the great events taking place across the season.
Soon the site will be getting ready and geared up for Christmas which last year attracted nearly 112,000 page views during one month – this year we are of course hoping for it to be even bigger and better!
