Lancashire’s Tourism Skills Awards
STARS OF STAGE AND SCREEN IN NEW DOUBLE ACT
Two of the UK’s most popular television and theatre stars have been cast in new leading roles for Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board’s (LBTB’s) annual LETS (Lancashire Excellence in Tourism Skills) awards, to be held at Fleetwood Marine Hall on Thursday 12 November.
Perfectly suited to this year’s theme of ‘musicals’ award-winning actor, singer and TV star Paul Nicholas and Tupele Dorgu, actor, singer and Coronation Street favourite come together for the very first time, to present Lancashire’s most prestigious skills award ceremony which recognises the achievements of individuals and teams working in the tourism industry.
From Lancashire Young Chef of the Year to Tourism Team of the Year, the awards celebrate the people who contribute to Lancashire’s developing visitor economy, which this year has been part of a nationwide drive to revive the best of British traditional holidays.
Mike Wilkinson, Chief Executive of Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board said:
“Each year the judging panel is faced with an increasingly impressive range of nominations and the challenge of uncovering the cream of Lancashire’s tourism talent. The personal and professional qualities of all the nominees are extraordinarily high this year, which has made this process particularly difficult and in some cases lengthy.
“All the nominees deserve our congratulations and are testament to the businesses that have shown their commitment to investing in the development of quality staff, as well as exceptional levels of customer service.”
A list of all finalists follows, with the eventual winner in each of the following categories receiving £100 cash prize, as well as a spotlight on their remarkable achievement:

· Lancashire Young Chef of the Year
· Most Outstanding Young Tourism Manager
· Best New Entrant to the Industry
· Outstanding Learner Award
