New Pendle Visitor Guide out now
The new Pendle Visitor Guide is out now. And one of the area’s top attractions helped to promote it at our top hotel. Prestige Karting of Colne sent a fabulous hand built sports car to the Guide’s official launch at the Oaks Hotel and Leisure Club in Reedley.
Last week the Worshipful the Mayor of Pendle unveiled this year’s Visitor Guide at the Oaks.
The Mayor, Councillor Shelagh Derwent, said :
“I’m very proud to officially launch Pendle’s Visitor Guide.
“In my opinion, the area has such a lot to offer, and the Visitor Guide showcases it beautifully.”
The 32 page Visitor Guide contains all that Pendle has to offer, from walks and events to attractions and accommodation.
There is a Heritage Trails section, and features on the Inside Spa, the Discover Pendle Centre and Boundary Mill store.
It focuses on ideas for places to visit, including Pendle Heritage Centre, Witches Galore and Bancroft Mill.
There’s also room for the smaller, unique attractions like the British in India Museum and Earby Lead Mining Museum.
The Guide also contains a section on ‘The Great Outdoors’ with information on walks and cycling events such as Pendle Walking Festival, the Pendle Witches Walking Trail, the West Craven Way, the Beating The Bounds Walk and the Grand Cycle Tour of Pendle.
And it would not be complete without tips on where to stay, with a choice ranging from an award-winning leisure hotel to cosy self-catering cottages.
Councillor Allan Buck, who represents tourism in Pendle, said :
“The Visitor Guide is a very important tool in encouraging people to visit Pendle.
“The area has many fantastic places to visit and there are lots of things to do.
“We do our very best to make sure as many people as possible know about them, and come to experience them.”
Mike Williams, the Council’s Tourism Team Leader, added :
“We distribute the Visitor Guide to all Tourist Information Centres in the country to encourage people to come and see for themselves.
“It is also available from our wonderful Discover Pendle Centre at Boundary Mill.”
