We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Marketing Executive to join the team based in Preston. You’ll be raising the profile and growing awareness of Lancashire as the destination to visit, live, work, invest, study to develop the growth of the region. This Digital Marketing Executive role is a full time, permanent position offering a competitive salary of £17,000-£19,000 per annum.
That means delivering standout digital campaigns across the full suite of digital platforms. You will be responsible for increasing traffic to our suite of websites, which already attracts over 9 million-page views a year and increasing engagement through established social media channels. You will work with the wider team to ensure all digital activity complements and supports marketing campaigns and drives commercial income.
Marketing Lancashire is the Destination Management Organisation for the county. Our activities in marketing, communications and commercial partnership are all designed to grow the visitor economy and promote the destination as a great place to visit, work and invest. Based in Preston, the office is only minutes away from the main motorway and Preston train station is also nearby.
Key responsibilities as our Digital Marketing Executive:
- Represent and champion the Lancashire brand, its spirit and values and implement accordingly within all marketing activity.
- Increase traffic to Marketing Lancashire’s suite of websites and develop SEO strategy to ensure maximum high placed listings and engagement. Manage all aspects of web tracking, analytics and reporting across all web sites and digital marketing and delivering future strategy recommendations based on findings.
- Develop and Implement social media strategy, including online video to create consistent and engaging content, building new audiences and engaging with visitors in conjunction with wider team.
- Implement, deliver and evaluate digital marketing activity in respect of campaigns including, but not limited to email marketing, online content creation and social media advertising campaigns to support Marketing Lancashire’s agenda of visit, live, work, invest and study, working directly with campaign partners, and external agencies.
- Liaise with Marketing Lancashire Partners in the development and implementation of promotional and experiential marketing packages for campaigns and promotional platforms including prize draws, sales promotions and digital offers/discounts.
- Assist in the generation of commercial partner income through the development of joint marketing initiatives with Marketing Lancashire’s Partners, industry partners and other relevant partners.
- Increase contact databases ensuring GDPR compliance.
- Liaise with partners, suppliers and other team members when required to maintain the accuracy and appropriateness of digital content and carry out any associated digital administration necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the websites and online tools.
- Ensure comprehensive Lancashire product and campaign knowledge is fully developed and maintained keeping abreast of all new products, initiatives, and events.
- Maintain awareness of technological advancements in the industry to influence on going development strategy for digital marketing activity
What we’re looking for in our Digital Marketing Executive:
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Highly digitally literate including SEO and social channels, experience of using Google Analytics
- Project management and organisation skills
- Creative thinking or design, practical experience of developing & delivering digital campaigns
- Experience in copy writing/ content development & proofreading
- Understanding of spreadsheets & budgeting
- Reporting skills
